Tom Curling

Tom is COO at Active. Previously he spent 8 years in Corporate Finance before joining a high growth, private equity backed retail bakery business as CFO for four years, then Managing Director for three years, where he oversaw the rollout and acquisitions that drove its growth to a 50-site brand.

Before Active, Tom worked at TravelLocal, an Active portfolio company, helping the business navigate the pandemic. At the beginning of his career, he trained as an accountant with Deloitte then founded a ski business.

Tom is a fanatical windsurfer, keen skier and occasional MAMIL.

 I am extremely motivated and inspired by founders and their stories: their courage, belief in their businesses and resilience to see it through. Having spent the best part of a decade in the trenches alongside numerous entrepreneurs, I am very determined in our cause of supporting teams in fulfilling their ambitions.
