Spencer founded Active Partners in 2004 with Gavyn Davies. He led Active’s investments in Soho House, Leon, and Honest Burgers. He’s Chairman of Secret Cinema and Honest Burgers, and a Non-Executive Director at Leon.

Prior to starting Active, Spencer was a founding executive director of iMPOWER an e-government start up. He lead the transformation of this into a highly respected management consultancy (www.impower.co.uk).

Spencer started his career at PwC where he qualified as an ACA. He left PwC to join the management team of CMI, an early stage online publishing business that pioneered the dissemination of paid content on the internet (in the mid-90’s). This led CMI to launch a variety of internet ventures in the web 1.0 era.

I am an avid consumer and have always had a fascination with challenger brands. We set up Active to help visionary entrepreneurs turn their brands into exceptional businesses.
