Jason Mahendran

Jason is part of the Investment team at Active Partners. He works closely with the Origination team to identify consumer trends and unearth exciting investment opportunities, through to leading the investment process, joining the Boards of portfolio companies, and working with Founders on their strategy and growth plans. Jason has broad experience across consumer sub-sectors, from digitally led fashion, beauty, and accessories, including marketplace models, through to hospitality and leisure. Prior to joining Active, he was the General Manager, Strategy and Investments at a multi-billion dollar family office in the Consumer Sector.

He started his working life at J.P Morgan in Consumer and Retail investment banking and has also worked in Corporate Strategy at an international retailer. Jason lives in South West London, and if he’s not busy discovering the City’s latest food spots or watching (or playing, badly) tennis, he can be found ferrying around his young family.

It’s a privilege to spend time thinking about what is going to matter to the consumer of tomorrow, and then to find the inspirational founders bringing that to life. Understanding what makes a brand special, and then partnering with teams as they grow is not just good fun, but really rewarding due to the complexities, opportunities, and challenges that need to be navigated daily.
